To vote on TRON you need TRON Power (TP) from staked TRX, then cast that TP toward a Super Representative (SR) or SR Partner and wait for the next maintenance cycle. Voting does not send your TRX to the SR — it locks voting weight to their address until you change or clear the vote.
This guide is for holders who already (or will) stake TRX and want a clean Vote → Claim → Status loop. VoteDesk is non-custodial: you sign every transaction in your wallet.
What you need before you vote
- Available TP — produced when you stake TRX for Energy or Bandwidth (Stake 2.0). Soft path: stake on UnstakeDesk, then return here to vote.
- A wallet that can sign
VoteWitnessAccount(TronLink, TokenPocket, Ledger via TronLink, etc.). - Bandwidth / Energy to pay for the vote transaction (or a small TRX burn if resources are empty).
- An SR or Partner you trust — compare live votes, brokerage, and block production on the Vote tab.
Steps on VoteDesk
- Open the Vote tab. Live Top 27 / Partners load from TronScan through VoteDesk’s API (no keys in your browser).
- Connect your wallet when prompted. Vote stays disabled until the wallet session is active.
- Filter Top 27 (block producers) or Partners (ranks ~28–127 that share rewards but do not produce blocks).
- Select an SR, enter how much TP to cast (you can split TP across multiple SRs), then confirm and sign.
- Wait for the next maintenance period (commonly ~6 hours on Mainnet). Vote changes apply from that boundary — not instantly mid-cycle.
After you vote
Use the Status tab with your T-address to confirm which SRs hold your votes and how much TP is active. Rewards accrue as blocks are produced; they do not auto-deposit into spendable balance — you must claim voting rewards separately.
Common mistakes
- Trying to vote with 0 TP — stake first; voting power is not free liquid TRX.
- Expecting an instant SR change — maintenance delay is protocol, not a VoteDesk bug.
- Confusing brokerage % with guaranteed APR — brokerage is the SR’s cut of rewards; APR fields on explorers are estimates, not promises.
- Leaving unclaimed rewards for months — claiming is a separate signed tx.
